6th ANNUAL ATLANTA ARTISTS CENTER NATIONAL SHOW
The reception for the 6th Annual National Show for the Atlanta Artists Center will be held this Saturday evening, August 29th, from 6 - 8 pm at the center. Annette Cone-Skelton of MOCAGA judged this year's show. I would like to remark that the collaborative effort from all of the AAC volunteers has been tremendous and resulted in a beautiful event. I hope you will join us for great art and converstaion, music by Julie Gribble who just moved here from LA and to learn hear who our winners are. The first place prize is $1000.

PAINT-OUT AT ZOO ATLANTA
Charles Young Walls just posted a message on facebook about a "paint-out" at Zoo Atlanta benefitting the pandas there - "Give So They Stay". To be held September 12th from 12 pm - 6 pm at Zoo Atlanta; hosted by Emily Ryals and the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art.

Watercolor, $385, by Clyde Draughon, an Atlanta watercolorist, signature member of the Georgia Watercolor Society, Merit Member of the Atlanta Artists Center (AAC), and member of the Southern Watercolor Society. Clyde is an award winning artist in the above mentioned organizations, as well as, the Quinlan Art Center.

"Artichoke and Lavender", a 11 x 14 oil, $625, by Christy Mull, a graduate of Ringling School of Art, a graphic illustrator for 35 years, and accepted artist of the Oil Painters of America (OPA). This blog is off to a great start! I very much appreciate those of you who have submitted work, those who are followers, and those who intend to submit work in the future. WENDY ADAMS

This little 9 x 12 oil by Ellen White was completed in an hour of the Red Hills State Park in Southern Illinois. Ellen has been featured in the American Art Collector, The Artist Magazine and Southwest Art and is a new instructor at The Art School in Sandy Springs in Atlanta.

JIM GREENWOOD - PLEIN AIR PAINT OUT
Jim Greenwood Participated in the Great Chattahoochee River Paint Out which was held last week from Wednesday through Friday with a reception on Saturday evening. The event sponsored by the Roswell Chamber of Commerce had over 77 artist participants. Artists could stake out locations along the river and volunteers were posted at each spot. The National Park Service also assisted with the event. Jim's two paintings completred Friday are "Azalea Drive Marsh" and "Toward the Bridge". http://www.jimgreenwood.com/
